In a major jolt to Dr Anupama Pro- vice chancellor of Sardar Patel University (SPU) Mandi, the Himachal Pradesh high Court has dismissed her petition challenging cancelation of her extra ordinary leave from Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Shimla by the Executive Committee (EC) of the HPU.
In an order passed by Justice Sateyan Vaidya on Friday the Court found no merit in her petition challenging cancellation of her extra ordinary leave.
After change of political guard with Congress coming to power in the state last year, the EC of the HPU on March 6, 2023 had cancelled extra ordinary leave granted to former Vice Chancellor DD Sharma and Pro Vice Chancellor Anupama of SPU Mandi asking them to join their respective departments in HP University Shimla.
While the VC had joined back in his department in the HPU, Dr Anupama had challenged the decision in the HP High Court.
Upholding the decision of the HPU, the court has asked Dr Anupama to join the Public Administration Department in HPU Shimla.
