Pahadi film SECOND CHANCE, Directed by Subhadra Mahajan, hailing from Shimla, is being released in cinema halls in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru and Kochi on this Friday (June 13).

The release of a black-and-white film, SECOND CHANCE, in theatres is a big feat since an artistic, non-commercial film without any known face from the film industry, which generally are played on OTT platforms, is being released in cinema halls.

SECOND CHANCE has been wildey appreciated by audiences in Europe, Asia and the United States and was also screened in the Dharamshala Film Festival.

The film is a creation of Subhadra Mahajan, a filmmaker from Himachal, brought up in Shimla. She is daughter of Harsha Mahajan, a known political figure of Himachal Pradesh and Rajya Sabha member. Her mother, Uma Mahajan, is a stage actor and a social activist.

The theme of the film follows the story of an urban young woman who, after experiencing the first major trauma of her life, retreats to her family summer home in the mountains, where time, nature and unlikely friendships help her recover.

Subhadra Mahajan is quite excited about the release of her debutant film SECOND CHANCE in cinema halls and said, “SECOND CHANCE is my humble attempt to celebrate my beloved homeland through the medium of cinema, and I am eagerly waiting for its release on this Friday (June 13).”

She said, “The film has been set and shot in the Kullu and Lahaul valleys of Himachal Pradesh, and several newcomers like Dheera Johnson from Manali as the protagonist, Thakari Devi and Kanav Thakur, both from the village of Burua, and Manali-based musician Shuarya, among others, are also part of the film.”

The film is produced by Shyam Bora of Metanormal Motion Pictures and Latent Pictures. Bhaskar Hazarika, Sidharth Meer and Naren Chandavarkar are co-producers, and Pan Nalin and cinematographer Swapnil S. Sonawane are executive producers.
