Mandi Police achieved a major breakthrough in the Sunder Nagar robbery case, as the main accused zeroed down by the police were arrested by Muzaffar Nagar police ,after an encounter with the police on Tuesday .
Javed and Shahid reportedly committed a robbery in Naya Bazar area of Sunder Nagar on Sunday by overpowering an old couple at gunpoint and taking away precious ornaments and Rs 90000 in cash . The incident had created a sensation in the area and residents have raised concern on security in the area.
Javed son of Khaleel and Shahid alias Chatiphata, both residents of Muzaffar Nagar (UP), were arrested by Muzffar Nagar police; both part of a gang of notorious criminals, had an encounter with the police at Jansath.
After the encounter Police arrested them and recovered, stolen motorcycle used in crime at Sunder Nagar and ‘desi Kattas’ from their possession.
As per UP Police record, both accused are known criminals and many cases of robbery etc are registered against them in UP, Goa and other states.
Mandi SP Sakshi Verma said, “A team of Sunder Nagar police has left for Muzaffar Nagar to take custody of the both accused.”
