Mandi police and the anti-sabotage team continued their search operation throughout the day on Wednesday after an email threatening to blow up the Mandi Deputy Commissioner’s office was received in the morning.

DC Mandi Apoorv Devgan, talking to media persons, said, “The police carried out the search operation throughout the day in the wake of the threatening email; since security of our staff and people visiting the premises is our major concern, the police will continue the search operation and take appropriate measures for the safety of people and the staff.”

He said, “An email was received in the morning, after which police were informed, as hundreds of the staff members of the DC office, SP office, and district courts are housed in the complex, besides the footfall of a large number of daily visitors; the security measures will remain in place; entry to the DC office will be regulated, and the staff and people are advised not to bring their vehicles to the complex, and visitors should come to visit the office in case of urgent matters only.”

SP Mandi Sakshi Verma said, “After receiving the email, we had started a search operation as safety of the public and the staff is our top concern. Three anti-sabotage teams are involved in the search operation, and the police are also trying to trace the sender of the email and taking precautionary measures to ensure public and staff safety,” she added.
