The two days, first annual meet of the erstwhile Rena Padam Chandra Sanatan Dharam Bhargav (RPCSDB) College Alumni Association, which concluded at Shimla on April 27, were a great experience for the old students of the college, as the majority of them met after nearly five decades and shared their bond with each other after passing out from the college .

The meet was itself a glorious moment for the alumni, as RPCSDB College had ceased to exist long ago ago when the private coeducational college was taken over by the state government in 1978 and turned into an exclusive girl college, known as RKMV today, losing the identity of the college.

President of the Alumni Association, Veena Sud said, “Some time back, the principal of the RKMV, Dr. Anurita Saxena, and a few students of the erstwhile RPCSDB college took an initiative to form the old student’s association, and after consistent efforts of a core group of old students, the alumni association was formed .”

She said, the main objective of forming the association is to bring old students of the RPCSDB college on a common platform, revive old memories and contribute to the present generation of students of the RKMV and other colleges by supporting them in the advancement of studies, besides besideaking aa fewwew other initiatives.”

The meet started by paying tributes and observing two minutes of silence in memory of those killed in a terrorist attack on tourists near Pahalgam last week.

Professor Surjit Singh, former teacher of the college was also honoured on the ocassion .

The enthusiasm to relive old memories was boundless as a few alumni travelled tttravellededledfrom Canada, the US, and other places to attend the meet.

Anand Sharma, a prominent alumnus of the college and former Union Industry , Commerce and Textile Minister came especially to attend the meet on the second day, besides many other prominent old students.
