A tragic incident occurred near Char Mile on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway on Sunday, where a tourist lost her life, and another person sustained serious injuries after their taxi was struck by a rolling boulder.

According to police sources, the taxi, bearing registration number HR45 E 4591, was returning to New Delhi from Manali when the boulder fell from a hill around 2:30 PM.

The deceased, Priya Yadav (30), a tourist from Mumbai, succumbed to her injuries on the spot. The taxi driver, Shiv Singh from Karnal, Haryana, was seriously injured, while Chanchal Yadav, the husband of the deceased, sustained minor injuries.
