Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the Congress government is going to fulfill seven guarantees given to people of the state by the Congress party during the Assembly election on completion of two years term on December 11.
Addressing a public meeting at Bhakhli in Seraj Assembly constituency of Mandi district after inaugurating a rope way near Pandoh, the CM said , “ Our government is bringing more welfare schemes in future and with this aim my Cabinet colleagues and I am working round the clock as welfare of common people is our primary objective .”
Criticizing former CM Jai Ram Thakur the CM said questioned, “Where was then CM Jai Ram when the police recruitment papers were leaked and sold in Subordinate Selection Commission Hamirpur? It was our government which acted against the commission and dissolved it as I could not tolerate the youth of the state being cheated,” he added.
He charged, “The previous BJP government had discriminated against the opposition MLAs in allocating development funds but we have stopped this practice and allocated Rs 28 crore on priority for Baglamukhi ropeway project in former CM Jai Ram Thakur’s Assembly constituency.”
The CM also accused the previous government for allegedly opening nearly 900 new institutions in the state without allocating funds for buildings and appointing staff, which was betrayal with people of the state; we have decided new health institutions and schools won’t be opened without appointing staff, he said .
CM Such also targeted the former CM Jai Ram Thakur, “For allegedly emptying the state coffers through wasteful expenditure and when our government took over there was hardly left any money for the development works and we were forced to take tough financial decisions to improve the financial health of the state government; our government implemented Old Pension Scheme for 1.36 lakh employees, released 11 percent DA and increased diet money of police personnel.”
He said, “To strengthen rural economy our government is purchasing cow milk at Rs 45 per kg and buffalo milk at Rs 55 per kg from farmers, daily wage of MGNREGA workers has been increased from Rs 240 to Rs 300,”
The Chief Minister said former CM Jai Ram Thakur could not even install an MRI machine in Nerchowk Hospital of Mandi district and converted hospitals of the entire state into referral hospitals.
Addressing the gathering Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri said, “ The state government is investing huge money in constructing ropeways in the state and the world’s second largest ropeway is being built at Shimla with the cost of Rs 1750 crore.”
Former minister Kaul Singh Thakur said, “The present state government is doing good work and has fulfilled five out of ten guarantees and thanked the Chief Minister for giving a big gift in the form of ropeway to Mandi district.”Earlier, the CM inaugurated Baglamukhi Ropeway on Chandigarh –Manali highway near Pandoh in Mandi district connecting Pandoh with Baglamukhi temple over Pandoh Dam, constructed with the cost of Rs 53.89 crore.”
