The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) made a scathing attack on the Congress government of Himachal Pradesh ahead of its celebration of two years rule at Bilaspur on December 11.
Addressing a press conference at Mandi on Monday, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur accused, “Certain Congress leaders are collecting lakhs of rupees in the name of providing outsourced jobs and the owner of a company engaged in outsourcing, is allegedly travelling in the government helicopter.”
He said, “It shows the Congress party has mastered the art of corruption and I intend to bring this fact to the notice of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu so that he can take action against such people.”
The LoP charged , “ Certain officials of the state government who were kept out by the previous government for their questionable actions have become close to the CM and are calling the shots in the present Congress government; even the CM had raised serious allegations on the floor of HP Vidhan Sabha against a few officers .”
Earlier addressing a public meeting at seri manch Mandi, Thakur alleged, “A crusher operator from Nadaun area, a favorite of the HP government is the only person doing mining in Nadaun area; when arrested by the CBI team some time back, the CM had claimed that he does not know him but now a video has gone viral wherein he is shown moving in the vehicle of the CM?”
Criticizing the two years rule of the Congress government in the state, Thakur said, “Since the Congress did not get support from the voters of Mandi district during the last Assembly election, the state government is taking revenge on people of the district; the development projects have come to standstill, funds have been diverted from Shiv Dham project to Naduan and the state government is trying to stifle the SPU through different actions.”
He said, “The conspiracy will not succeed and BJP will fight back every move of the state government to destroy the SPU and is steadfast in saving this institution named after Sardar Patel.”
Thakur questioned, “What is there for the state government to celebrate by spending crores of public money on the completion of its two years rule? Is it celebrating the financial mess of the state and huge debt , making water, electricity and PDS ration costlier, shutting nearly one thousand institutions or ousting 15000 people from jobs ?” he said.
BJP MLAs Anil Sharma, Vinod Kumar, Rakesh Jamwal, Inder Singh Gandhi, Deep Raj and District BJP President Nihal Chand Sharma among others were present in the rally.
