The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has extended the last date for accepting applications for the recruitment of police constables, to November 12.
A spokesman of the state government said , “ On the directions of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the deadline for receiving applications for the recruitment of police constables has been extended from October 31, to November 12.”
He said, “The decision has been taken to give more time to youths across the state for applying to the post and would benefit thousands of candidates desirous of applying.”
The HPPSC has invited applications to recruit 1,088 constables in the state police department out of which 30 percent vacancies (380) are reserved for the women candidates.
“The state government has already given one-year’s relaxation in the maximum age limit to general, OBC, SC & ST, distinguished sports persons, Home Guards and Gorkha candidates”, he said .
