Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojna for Shimla district from Dodra Kwar.
In a programme organized at Kwar the CM also released an amount of Rs 91.62 lakh for 12 month’s Samman Nidhi to 509 women for the area, besides Rs 45.45 lakh released under social security scheme to 505 women.
Addressing a public meeting the CM said, “The state government would make every effort to empower five panchayats of the area by starting different schemes, a road to the area is being constructed speedily and a separate Zila Parishad will be created for Dodra Kwar.”
He announced to give Rs one crore each for the development of five panchayats of Dodra Kwar, Rs 4.5 crores for constructing a bailey bridge to connect the area with Uttarakhand and a 50 kms road would be built from Ladrot to Dodra Kwar by October 25.”
He said, “The state government would take up the matter with the Central government to provide OBC status to Dodra-Kwar area, health and education facilities would be improved in the area and inspected land for the civil hospital.”
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the first ATM in Kwar, installed by Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank and said the bank has given loan without any guarantee under Women Empowerment Loan Scheme.
The girl students of the school presented a cultural programme and the Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 50,000 to them.
Earlier, the Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome by the people dressed in traditional attire on his arrival at Kwar.
