The condition of General Secretary of Communist Party of India Marxist (CPM) Sita Ram Yechury is critical.
According to a release issued by the Central Office of CPM, “Comrade Yechury admitted in the All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi for the past few days is being treated for an acute respiratory infection. A multi-disciplinary team of Doctors is closely monitoring his condition, which is critical at this time.”
A source privy to health condition of Comrade Yechuri from New Delhi said, “He had developed a respiratory infection a few days back and was responding well to the medicines but unfortunately was infected by some fungal infection in the hospital; the doctors attending him have said, he was responding to the new medicines given to him on Tuesday, but it would take at least 48 hours for knowing its effect.”
