The Kaza Manali road link was snapped on Sunday morning after a bridge on a local river collapsed at Chichon on National Highwaway no 505 Spiti division of Lahual – Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
According to an informtion from Kaza a loaded truck passing through the bridge also fell with the bridge in the river.
Lahaul & Spiti MLA, Anuradha Rana said, ” The Officer Commanding ( OC) of Border Roads Organization (BRO) and local administration are working to reconnect the road link.”
” Two officers of BRO along with men and machinery have been sent to the place to restore the link.”
In the meantime, traffic has been diverted to the Kiyamo Bridge to ensure ontinunied movement on the road.
The BRO is expected to begin work on constructing a culvert soon to minimize inconvenience for local residents.
