In a startling incident an FIR has been registered against Churah MLA of Chamba district, Hans Raj in Chamba police station on the complaint of a young girl of his Churah Assembly constituency, , for allegedly coercing the girl to have obscene chat with the MLA.

The complainant had approached police officials of Chamba district, on the basis of which Additional Superintendent of Police Chamba forwarded her complaint to the police station, acting on which the police registered an FIR (copy with Himachal Guardian) on 9/8/24 and forwarded it to SP Chamba.

In her complaint, the girl has accused, “I had approached the MLA regarding some work when he asked me to meet him and do whatever he says; he also coerced me to have obscene chat with him and later threatened me to delete the chat and even my one mobile phone has also been damaged.” the girl added.

An FIR no 42/2024 has been registered on the basis of the  complaint on 16/8/24 under section 75,351(2) of BNS by the police.  

Meanwhile, Congress candidate from Churah during the last Assembly election, Yashwant Khanna has urged the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to ensure justice to the girl by ensuring action in the case.

It was not possible to contact the MLA on his mobile phone as efforts proved futile to seek his version .

Meanwhile the girl in a social media post has said , “I had made the allegations on the basis of which the FRI was registered, however i clarify the allegations were made due to mental stress.”
