Justice Rajiv Shakdher has been appointed new Chief Justice (CJ) of Himachal Pradesh High Court on the recommendations by the collegiums headed by Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India, Justice DY Chandrachud.
Justice Shakdher is currently a judge in the Delhi High Court and replaces Justice MS Ramachnadra Rao, Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, who has been transferred to Jharkhand High Court.
He was appointed as Judge of the High Court in 2008, obtained his law degree from Delhi University in 1987 and was practicing in the Supreme Court before his elevation as a judge of Delhi High Court.Justice Shakdher has been serving as a judge for more than 16 years in the Delhi High Court .
