Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to rationalize the free electric scheme in the state in a Cabinet meeting held at Shimla on Friday, chaired by CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
A spokesman of the state government said, “The Cabinet gave its approval to rationalize the provisions for Zero Electricity Bill for the domestic consumers by restricting subsidy to ‘One Family One Meter’ and linking the electricity connection with ration cards/ adhar card , besides abolishing complete subsidy being given to CM/ Ex CMs, Speakers/ Ex speakers , Deputy Speakers/ Ex Speakers , Ministers/ Ex Ministers, MPs/ Ex MPs, MLAs/ Ex MLAs, Chairman of Boards/ Advisors, OSDs, all Class-I and Class II employees of the Government/Corporations/ Boards including IAS officers, IPS Officers, HPS Officers, HAS Officers, Forest Officers, Judicial Officers, all government Class A and Class B contractors and all income tax payers,” .
The Cabinet gave its approval to bring additional areas of The Retreat, Mashobra, Band Tukda Andri, Shiv Mandi Andri, Tal and Giri, D.P.F. Khalini, B.C.S. Mist Chamber and Parimahal under the ambit of Green Area in the Shimla Development Plan.
It accepted the Cabinet Sub-Committee’s recommendations on the pending results for post codes 903 and 939, related to Junior Office Assistant and assigned the task of declaring the final results for both post codes to H.P. Rajya Chayan Aayog Hamirpur.
The Cabinet also approved the declaration of land acquisition and compensation to the families affected by expansion of Kangra Airport,
It gave its nod to fill up 486 posts of Lecturer Physical Education, 157 supernumerary posts of Principal School Cadre, fill up 245 posts of special educators, fill up 53 posts of different categories in Fire Department, 60 posts in Police Department and fill up 30 posts in HP Rajya Chayan Ayaog.
The Cabinet gave its approval to fill up 30 posts of JOA (IT) in the Public Works Department and create 27 additional posts of BDOs.
The Cabinet decided to regularize the services of 18 Grameen Vidya Upasakas Junior Basic Teachers in the Education Department, who have completed three years of services.
The Cabinet decided to declare the district cadre of Patwari, Kanunago and Divisional cadre of Naib Tehsildar in the Revenue Department as State Cadre.
The Cabinet also decided to grant child care leave for a maximum period of 730 days to a female government employee during her entire service for taking care of her children with a minimum disability of 40 percent.

Good decision,rather the ‘zero electricity bill scheme for domestic consumers’ being provided to income tax payers should also be withdrawn .
