The Joginder Nagar Police (in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh) has arrested a government school Head Master under the POCSO Act for allegedly sexually harassing four minor girl students of the school.
This is the second case within a week when a shopkeeper in Chopal area was arrested for sexually harassing 11 minor school girls.
A police source said, “Fifty-one year’s accused teacher posted in the school as a Head Master since 2021 has been arrested by the police on the complaint of parents of the victims – studying in class IV, V and VI of a government high school on Friday.”
“The alleged harassment of the victims began in 2023 and none of the victims complained to their parents about the nefarious acts of the teacher and it was only after a complaint was made on the Child Helpline telephone number the parents lodged an FIR against the accused and police initiated action,” the police said.
The accused teacher has been remanded to three day’s police custody and the police is recording the statements of the victims, their parents and other students studying in the school.
