Four passengers traveling in a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus, have died and three other injured in a bus accident near Giltahdi in Jubbal sub division of Shimla district on Friday morning, when the bus rolled down the hill and fell into a deep gorge .
Superintendent of Police Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi said, “The bus was on its route from Kuddu to Giltahdi with seven persons on board, when at about 7 am the driver of the bus reportedly lost control over it and it fell into a deep gorge.”
“The deceased include the driver of the bus Karam Dass, Rakesh Kumar (conductor), Birma Devi and Dhan Shah; those injured in the accident have been identified as Jiyender Rangta, Deepika and Hast Bahadur” , he said .
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Education Minister Rohit Thakur have expressed grief over the death of four passengers in the accident.
