Nearly 68 percent polling was recorded in the parliamentary elections for four seats of Himachal Pradesh, while nearly 69 percent polling was recorded in the by-elections for the six Assembly constituencies of the state.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state Maneesh Garg said, “According to the information received so far in the state headquarters, about 68 percent voting was recorded till 5.30 pm for the Lok Sabha election whereas around 69 percent polling was recorded for the bye-polls; the polling process was peaceful and voters had started reaching polling booths, early in the morning; the final figures of voting percentage will be released only after the return of all the polling parties and scrutiny of documents.,” he added.
“Despite the rising mercury in the lower belt of Himachal, the polling picked up early in the morning, which was about 31.92 percent for the Parliamentary elections.
The polling in four parliament constituencies recorded is: Hamirpur – 66.05 percent, Kangra – 64.92 percent, Shimla- 68.10 percent and Mandi – 72.32 percent.
For the Mandi parliamentary constituency, segment wise polling percentage recorded is Ani – 73,12. percent , Balh – 76.8 percent, Banjar-71.42 percent, Bharmour -63.14 percent, Darang 74.13 percent, Joginder Nagar -68.15 percent, Karsog -73.42 percent, Kinnaur -71.44 percent, Kullu -72,02 percent , Lahaul- Spiti -74.09 percent, Manali- 67.42 percent , Mandi -73.98 percent, Sunder Nagar -74.65 percent, Nachan-77.4 percent, Seraj- 78.28 percent, Sarkaghat -66.83 percent, Rampur 74.03 percent,
