In a tragic incident three youths from Punjab were drowned in river Yamuna at Paonta Sahib on Friday.
An eyewitness to the incident said, “The three youth from Paonta Sahib came to pay obeisance in Paonta Sahib Gurudwara on Friday morning and one of them went to bathe in the river Yamuna but started drowning in the deep water; later his two accomplices jumped in the one after the other to save their friend but all three were drowned.”
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Poanta Sahib Aditi Singh said, “The police have recovered the bodies of all three youths with the help of divers; two youths have been identified from their ID proofs as Dhirendra Singh Saini (22) son of Shyam Singh Saini, resident of Derabassi and Abhishek Sharma son of Ramesh Kumar, resident of Derabassi, Punjab, the third youth has not been identified yet”, she added.
