Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi appealed to people to defend the constitution of India throught thier votes in the election.
Adressing two public meetings at Nahan and Una in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party BJP is seeking 400 seats in LoK Sabha to change the constitution and their leaders have been openly saying they will change the constitution; our Constitution is the nation’s voice but the BJP says Narendra Modi is the only voice”, he stated.
“During the disaster in Himachal, we sought support from the Prime Minister but he refused to give it. We had sought Rs 9,000 crore as 22,000 families had suffered.”
He said, “In Himachal, apple-growers fail to get the right price because of the partnership existing between Modi and Adani. All storage facilities have been given to one person who controls the apple price.”
He also took a dig at the PM for claiming in a TV interview for being guided by a divine power.
Gandhi said, “The PM waived loans of Rs 16 lakh crore in the last 10 years of 22 rich people but didn’t give help to people in Himachal during the worst natural calamity.”
He also assured to give a legal guarantee on minimum support price to the farmers, giving Rs 8500 per month to poor women from July 5, guarantee of “Pakki Naukri” to graduates etc, while seeking support for the Congress candidates.
