Senior executive engineer of BBMB project Pandoah Vivek Chopra has issued an alert about opening of spillway gates of Pandoh Dam.
In a release the XEN said, “Due to melting of snow on higher reaches the water level in Pandoh dam is rising with a fast speed and the spillway gates of the dam can be opened anytime to release water from the dam.”
He said, “This can lead to sudden increase in water level of river Beas and warned people living near the river and tourists not to go near the river as a precautionary measure.”
