The election process for the Mandi parliamentary constituency would begin on Tuesday with filing of nomination papers.
Returning officer (Deputy Commissioner) for the Mandi parliamentary constituency Apoorv Devgan said , “ The nomination papers can be filed from May 7to 14 , except on public holidays on May 11 and 12, from 11 am to 3 pm , however nomination papers will be accepted on May 10, despite being a holiday”.
He said, “Only five people would be allowed in the office of the Returning Officer during filing of nomination papers; video recording of nomination process would be done to check any violation of model code of conduct and requested all contestants to strictly adhere to guidelines issued by Election Commission of India.”
Congress candidate Vikramditya Singh and BJP candidate Kanga Ranaut are likely to file their nomination papers on May 10 and May 14, respectively.
