Deputy Commissioner Mandi and Chairman of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC), Apoorva Devgan has asked political parties and contestants for the Mandi parliament constituency to get pre- certification of all advertisements released by them in the election.
He said, “As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India -authentication is mandatory for electronic media, social media and bulk SMS etc but no party or candidate has yet applied for airing political advertisements in electronic or social media.”
The DC said, “The MCMC is monitoring all advertisements being displayed round the clock to prevent paid news and check expenditure on the advertisement of each contestant and political parties.”
He has appealed to all political parties and candidates contesting elections independently to issue the advertisements after due certification by MCMC.
