Congress party has filed a complaint to the Election Commission of India (ECI) against BJP candidate from Mandi parliamentary constituency Kangana Ranaut for allegedly making “derogatory remarks “against Congress candidate from Mandi Virkrmaditya Singh and other Congress leaders.
In the complaint, the Congress alleged, “Kangana used foul language against Vikramaditya Singh and referred to him as a ‘cartoon’ and ‘Pappu’ etc, which is a violation of the model code of conduct.”
The Congress has urged the CEC to refrain Kangana from calling the Congress candidate by a nickname and making objectionable remarks about the personal life of the Congress candidate.
Referring to Kangana’s speech in Sarkaghat on Saturday, the Congress alleged, “ She not only made insulting remarks against Vikrmaditya Singh but also compared freedom fighter Moti Lal Nehru with one of the businessmen of the India by referring him as ‘ansh’ of the British.”
“Kangana has also been making derogatory remarks against former Congress president Sonia Gandhi,” the complaint said.
