Hundreds of workers participated in rallies, flag hoisting ceremonies and seminars organized by the Himachal Pradesh unit of CITU at different places in the state on Wednesday to observe the May Day.
State president of CITU Vijendra Mehra said, “While programmes at district level were organized throughout the state a state level rally was organized at Bade industrial area in Solan district.”
He said, “After paying tributes to the martyrs of Labor Day the speakers addressing the rally recalled the sacrifices of the workers to achieve their rights, the importance of the Labour Day and gave a call to defeat the Narendra Modi led BJP government in the ensuing elections for its anti-working class policies.”
CITU General Secretary Prem Gautam addressing the rally said, “After coming to power the Narendra Modi government has been attacking the working class and even snatched their legal rights by amending labour laws and brought miseries for the working class and thus working class should make concerted efforts to defeat the Modi government.”
