The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi iHub showcased the success of Drone Didi programme to the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu at Kaushal Bhawan in New Delhi on Wednesday.
‘Drone Didi programme ‘is a skill development programme linked with the Prime Minister’s NaMo Drone Didi initiative among all skill training partners in India and is designed for women in Himachal Pradesh focusing on Agri -Drone Applications.
Highlighting Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture through Drone Automation, Smt. Murmu said, “Empowering women in the crucial realm of agriculture through drone automation is a transformative initiative and it would not only harness the power of technology but also fosters a more inclusive and equitable agricultural landscape.”
Somjit Amrit, CEO of IIT Mandi iHub and Shashi Bala, a beneficiary of the Drone Didi program, presented the success of this initiative before the President.
Sharing her experience about drone Didi programme Shashi Bala said, “I am pleased with what I have learned so far under this programme like drone applications, maintenance, DGCA guidelines, Agri-drone applications, business skills, soft skills and encouragement for pursuing my aspirations.”
