Himachal Pradesh government has engaged Sky Himalayas Ropeways Private Limited Company to build a ropeway at Chintpurni temple in Una district for pilgrims.
The letter of award to the company was handed over by Ajay Sharma, Director Ropeways and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation at Dharamshala on Friday.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said, “The 1.1 kilometer aerial ropeway would be constructed with an outlay of Rs. 76.50 crore and would have capacity to carry 700 passengers on one way in an hour; besides facilitating pilgrims the project would also provide direct and indirect employment to youths of the area,” he added.
He said, “The temple is a significant pilgrim destination and one of the sacred shakti peethas of the state, and asked the company to complete the project in a time bound manner.”
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh, Cabinet Minister Yadvinder Goma were also present on the occasion among other dignitaries.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also launched Divya Pooja Pranali for online worship by devotees in Bajreshwari, Chamunda and Jawalamukhi temples of Kangra district.
Now devotees will have facility to carry e-pooja virtually in these temples by visiting the website http://kangratemples.hp.gov.in launched for the purpose.
The devotees will also have facility to carry online booking for accommodation, seek online prasad, make online offerings and buy books and idols.
