Bhartiya Janata Party MLAs staged a protest outside Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha on Thursday during winter session of the Assembly at Tapovan near Dharamshala, posing as milkmen, demanding purchase of milk at Rs 100 per kilogram from milkmen of the state as guaranteed by the Congress in its election manifesto during the last Assembly election.
The BJP MLAs led by leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur reached Vidhan Sabha premises carrying milk pots .Some of them were carrying placards demanding purchase of milk at Rs 100 per kilogram.
It is notable the Congress party had given ten guarantees to voters including buying milk from farmers.
The opposition BJP in the state has been highlighting alleged non-fulfillment of election guarantees given to voters during the Winter Assembly session . On Wednesday the BJP MLAs had reached the Vidhan Sabha premises carrying dung demanding purchase of dung by the state government as guaranteed by the Congress.
The Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said, “The Congress had come to power in the state by giving false guarantees to voters and we are just trying to remind the state government about the promises made by them.”
