Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has congratulated people of Himachal Pradesh, for two industrial towns of the state i.e. Parwanoo and Kala Amb winning prestigious Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan 2023 national award.
The CM said, “Winning award was possible due to responsible and environmentally conscious tourism, the active cooperation of local communities and the coordinated, sustained efforts of government agencies.”
The two towns were chosen by the selectors for making it to the top two ranks under National Clean Air Programme among the three categories of the state with towns having a population of three lakhs.
The award was received at Bhopal on Thursday by Member Secretary of State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) Anil Joshi in a ceremony.
Joshi said, “The SPCB has taken several steps to ensure quality of air in industrial towns by checking pollution and several measures like identifying hot spots of pollution, planting trees and restricting garbage disposal in the open have helped in checking pollution and maintaining quality of air in industrial towns.”
