Ex-servicemen in Himachal Pradesh have once again started raising their voice against the Central government for implementation of One Rank One Pension (ORP) scheme.
Hundreds of ex-servicemen held a state wide protest and observed a day long fast in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday demanding removal of anomalies created by implementation of ORP.
President of Ex-servicemen Joint Committee Captain Het Ram Sharma (retired) said, “In Himachal Pradesh 1.26 lakh ex-servicemen, widows of six thousand martyrs and 21000 ex-servicemen are getting pension but many of these are getting lesser pension after implementation of ORP as the Central government has failed to implement ORP scheme as per provisions of Koshiyari Committee recommendations.”
He said, “The Central government has failed to remove the anomalies created by implementation of OPR despite several representations in this regard.”
The Ex-servicemen have warned of intensifying their protest in the coming days if their demands are not addressed by the Central government.
