In a major fire incident at Banjar in Kullu district, nine shops and four houses were gutted on Monday morning, causing an estimated loss of Rs 2 crore.
According to information the flames were noticed at about 2 am after which fire tenders were requisitioned from Larji to douse the flames.
Deputy Commissioner Kullu Ashutosh Garg after visiting the spot said, “Ex- gratia relief to victims have been given as per the relief manual and magisterial inquiry has been ordered to find the cause of the fire.”
Local MLA Surender Shouri also visited the spot and has expressed his sympathies with victims over loss of their property.
