Himachal Pradesh government has decided to implement an old pension scheme (OPS) in the state for 1.36 state government employees including all employees appointed in future.
This decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting held at Shimla on Friday presided over by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and it was decided all employees including those who have retired after 15th May 2003, will be brought under the ambit of GPP and will get benefit of OPS for which Rs 1000 crore would be spent by the state government.
The Cabinet has also decided to amend rules in this regard and contribution being made under NPS would be stopped from April 1, 2023 and also passed a resolution urging the Central government to return Rs 8000 crore deposited under NPS .
The Cabinet also decided to engage 780 ASHA workers under NRHM on incentive basis and gave its nod to the guidelines for the engagement of ASHA facilitators under the Community Process Programme in NHM.
The Cabinet decided to transfer an amount of Rs. 600 per girl students belonging to SC, ST and BPL categories through DBT to 3.70 lakh students for providing uniforms.
The Cabinet has given go-ahead to lease out the toll barriers under Himachal Pradesh Tolls Act, 1975 by way of auction-cum tender process for the year 2023-24.
Approval was accorded by the Cabinet to rationalize 26 engineering staff of the forest department with PWD, Jalshakti department and HPSIDC, HPSEBL and HP Power Corporation.
