Health, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Dhani Ram Shandil said, “The state government is committed to implement nari samman yojna to empower and strengthen women, socially and economically in a phased manner”.
After holding a meeting of the sub-committee constituted by the state government for giving Rs 1500 per month to women as promised by the Congress during Assembly election at Shimla on Friday, the minister said, “A detailed discussion was held for giving Rs. 1500 per month to women in the state and certain norms would be framed to decide eligibility criteria as suggested in the meeting.”
The minister said, “Before implementing the scheme it is necessary to analyse its social and financial aspects in order to help women of economically weaker and backward sections, besides looking into its financial implications.”
