The 76th Independence Day was celebrated throughout the state with great enthusiasm, fervor and gaiety. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over a state level function at Sarahan on Monday . He unfurled the National Flag, took salute from the marching contingents of HP Police, Home Guards, NCC and NSS.
The functions were held at Districts and Sub-Division levels to mark this historic occasion by unfurling of the National Flag.
The Chief Minister announced to release the first installment of arrears after pay revision to state government employees’ and pensioners from January 1, 2016.
Addressing people on the occasion, he said , “ The state government would provide benefits of nearly Rs 1000 cores through the arrears to about 2.25 lakh employees and 1.90 lakh pensioners ; they have been given benefits of over Rs 3500 crore through pay revision”, he added.
The CM announced to make panchayat chowkidars completing 12 years of service as daily wagers
He said, “The state government is supplying several grocery items at subsidized rates to people and announced to double the subsidy on edible oil from Rs 5 to Rs 10 to APL families and from Rs 10 to Rs 20 to BPL (NFSA) families”.
Thakur announced to recruit pre-primary teachers as per requirement and to file appeal in the Apex Court to exclude khair from 10 years felling programme.
Greeting people on the occasion, the Chief Minister paid tributes to martyrs and also talked about azadi ka amrit mohotsav being celebrated on 75 years of Independence of India and har ghar tiranga campaign of Prime Minister Narender Modi.
He said,” It’s a matter of honour the people of the state are also celebrating 75 years of formation of the state as several events are being organized and appealed them to become part of 75 years of this journey as state has made tremendous progress in every field; the credit of which goes to able leadership and hard working people.”
The CM also narrated progress made in the state through figures and highlighted several schemes launched for welfare of people and thanked the Prime Minister for guiding the nation in difficult times and giving generous help to Himachal Pradesh.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented by school students and other troupes.
The Chief Minister also honoured Prem Kumar from Karsog, Virender Singh of Nauharadhar, Dr. Ajay Pathak CMO Sirmaur, Parade Commander Pranav Chauhan for their distinguished services in their respective fields. CM mobile health clinic service was also launched on the occasion.
Several dignitaries were present on the occasion.
