Himachal Pradesh has become the first State in the country to frame Drone Policy in order to create a holistic foundations of Governance and Reform using Drones (GARUD) – an initiative for enabling policy, robust infrastructure, research and development, market access for drone manufactures and service providers, launched by the Department of Information Technology.
The policy was adopted in the State Cabinet meeting on Monday and would hell the state.
The Policy envisages use of drones in the hilly
state which and bring immense benifits to people living in remote areas.
The main focus of the policy would be on creation of Drone and Drone-enabled technology ecosystem industries, creation of licensed manpower pool through establishment of Drone flying training schools and skill development through various Drone related courses which would help in creating job opportunities.
