HP Government has decided to withdraw the provision of Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Act invoked in the state in the wake of COVID -19 pandemic with immediate effect.
As per notification issued in this regard by Chief Secretary to the state government Ram Subhag Singh states, “Taking note of overall improvement in the COVID situation and preparedness of the government to deal with the pandemic HPSDMA has taken a decision there may not any further need to invoke the proviso of Disaster Management Act to contain the COVID -19.”
“However the advisories issued by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for containment of COVID 19 including use of face mask and hand hygiene would continue to guide the state’s overall response to pandemic,” the notification clarifies.
The CS has directed Departments, government organizations, all District Magistrates, Police officers / officials and Local Authorities to strictly comply with the order.
