Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday to plead the case of scheduled tribe status for Hatti Community living in Trans – Giri area of Sirmour district.
Pleading the case for giving ST status to the Community , CM said , “ Jaunsar Bawar area of Uttrakhand adjoining Trans Giri was given the ST status long back but the demand of Hatti Community to give them ST status has been pending since long .”
He said the demand of Hatti Community is very genuine and would benefit more than three lakh people from 144 panchayats and ensure speedy development in this area.
The CM also discussed various developmental schemes going on in the state and thanked the Central government for the support and also briefed the minister about welfare schemes proposed in the current budget of the state government.
A spokesman of the state government said the minister has assured every possible help in the matter.
