Himachal Pradesh government has decided to close all educational institutions except Medical, Dental and Nursing Colleges in the state till January 26 to ensure safety of students in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases in the state.
Presiding a video conference with DCs, SPs and CMOs at Shimla on saturday Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur directed to implement revised home isolation guidelines, effective monitoring of clusters and stricter perimeter to check the spread of third wave of the pandemic.
He said, “Since the numbers of covid cases is increasing at a sharp pace, the state government would ensure adoption of covid appropriate behaviour.”
The CM said, “Preparedness regarding availability of beds, oxygen PPE kits and drugs must be reviewed and all restrictions imposed by the state government must be enforced strictly.”
He said, “Medical experts are expecting a sharp surge in number of cases in the next few days thus special precautions must be taken.”
Jai Ram Thakur said “Pulse oximeters and thermometers must be provided to ASHA workers to monitor health of people under home isolation and serious patients must be immediately moved to health institutions, provided oxygen cylinders and district administrations should also monitor the movement of tourists.”
