The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur organised Sixth Virtual Awareness Programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) jointly with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and TradeMarks of Government of India.
Chairman of MSME Committee of PHD Dr DP Goel attended this programme as a special guest.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Pamita Awasthi, Nodal Officer of Incubation Centre of the NIT Hamirpur highlighted the importance of sensitization of students to IPR to implement programmes like Start up India and Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. She also encouraged students to register their ideas for patenting and their start ups.
NIT Director Prof LK Awasthi, Chief Guest of the programme in his address emphasised the importance of IPR and its commercialization. He said, “India can join other developed nations by exploiting patenting and start ups programmes; and appreciated the efforts of students of the institute for filing eleven patents.”
Experts on IPR also deliberated on this subject in this programme.
