Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced to extend wave off period of passengers tax, SRT and token tax for public transport operators including taxis and school buses, till November 30th.
Making this announcement at Mandi on Friday Thakur said , “During the past two years economic activity in the state was hit hard due to COVID -19 and the transport sector was adversely affected due to closures.”
He said, “The state government had announced relief for different sectors as a succor and had waved off passengers tax, SRT and token tax for all public transport vehicles including taxis and school buses from April 1. 2020 for two years; which has now been extended till November 30, 2021.”
Thakur said, “There are total 52831 public transport vehicles in the state and the state government has already given a relief to them to the tune of Rs 91.12 crores and with fresh extension a total tax relief of Rs 164 crores have been provided to passenger vehicle operators, which includes Rs 11 crores for providing working capital.”
