Four more bodies were recovered on Thursday from debris of the landslide by rescue teams near Neugal Seri in Kinnaur district taking the death toll to fourteen. Nearly sixteen people are still feared trapped there.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur visited the site of the incident on Thursday morning to take stock of the situation. He also talked with family members of the victims, rescue teams engaged in rescue work and also visited the injured admitted in Bhaba Nagar health centre.”
Making a statement in the Himachal State Assembly the CM said, “Fourteen people have lost their lives in the incident, thirteen injured have been rescued and nearly sixteen people still are feared trapped under the debris of the landslide.”
He said, “The rescue work would continue till trapped persons are recovered and the state government has announced to give Rs four lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs fifty thousand to those of the injured as an ex-gratia payment.”
