Himachal Pradesh government has decided to extend the lockdown in the state till May 26, 6 am to break the chain of virus in view of sharp surge in the cases of COVID-19.
The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting held at Shimla on Saturday presided over by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur .
It has also decided to allow opening of hardware and construction material shops on every Tuesday and Friday for three hours to check exodus of labourers involved in construction activity.
The Cabinet has allowed all medical colleges, Municipal Corporations and Zonal hospitals having 200 bed capacities to hire dead body vans, besides asking the Forest Department and Forest Corporation to provide free wood for cremation of people dying from COVID.
The Cabinet decided marriage would not be allowed in marriage palaces, community halls and tent houses, banned catering from outside and use DJ’s and bands. Marriage would now only be performed in housees or courts with 20 invitees.
The Cabinet also reviewed the progress made in announcements made by the CM and every Minister would review the work being done in this regard and ensure commencement of work within 3 months.
The Cabinet gave its consent to fill up 219 different posts on contract basis under National Health Mission, gave its nod to procure 128 CT scan slice and MRI Tesla machines in Medical College Chamba.
It also decided to open a Health Sub Centre at Sartyaula in Mandi district and its nod to construct a Rest House at Dhanotu.
