In the wake of a fresh wave of COVID -19 cases in the country and directions of Prime Minister Narender Modi to Chief Ministers to take effective steps in controlling the pandemic, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to take several measures .
Announcing the fresh restrictions after a virtual meeting with DC’s and SP’s on Saturday Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said , “ The State Cabinet has banned fairs and festivals in the state with immediate effect and all ongoing fairs should be wound up in two days .”
“The state government has also restricted social gatherings; in indoors gathering the number of people attending such functions has been limited to two hundred and in functions organized in open the number of gathering would be restricted to fifty percent of the proposed gatherings; for all functions the local administration will have to be informed in advance for seeking permission,” he added.
Expressing his concern about fresh spurt in COVID cases the CM has directed the DC’s and SP’s to take effective steps to control the virus and strictly implement wearing of masks , use of sanitizers and social distancing norms, besides enhancing testing and vaccination drive .
He said, “The Union government has already sanctioned another 1.8 lakh dosages for the State which would be delivered within two days and directed officials to lay emphasis on adopting track, test and treat strategy.”
