Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has condemned the conduct of leader of opposition and other MLAs in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly premises Shimla on Friday terming this against the rich tradition and culture of the state.
Lashing at state Congress leaders while addressing a public meeting at Seri Manch Mandi on Saturday Thakur said, “It shows the state Congress party has become leaderless, directionless and bereft of any issue to raise against the state government and there is a competition among their leaders to prove supremacy to draw the attention of their Central leaders.”
Talking about completion of three years rule of his government Thakur said, “It was with the active support of the Central government and cooperation of people that we have successfully completed three years in the government and could meet the challenge of COVID -19 pandemic.”
He said, “The state government has upgraded three Municipal Committees of Mandi, Solan and Palampur to Municipal Corporations on public demand, to ensure planned development and provide basic amenities in these towns as the Congress government created only one MC of Dharamshala during the last 70 years; no tax would be levied in these MCs for three years and through Mukhya Mantri Shahri Guarantee Yojna guaranteed employment would be ensured to urban poor on the analogy of MNREGA.”
He said, “Efforts would be made for beautification and development of Mandi town for which a Master Plan would be prepared, all electricity lines would be laid underground and Beas Ghats would be developed, besides providing other facilities like providing CCTVs cameras for safety of public etc.”
He said, “Shiv Dham Mandi, foundation of which was laid today would be constructed at the cost of over Rs. 150 crore which would be an added attraction for the tourists visiting Mandi district and a multi storey parking would be constructed with Rs 100 crores.”
Thakur said, “The credit of this project goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who helped the state in getting clearance of Shiv Dham project along with 604 other projects hanging fire for long for forest clearances; besides clearance of Rs 1000 crores from Finance Commission for the Greenfield Airport in Balh.”
The State BJP in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna, Jalshakti Mantri Mahender Singh Thakur and Mandi MP Ram Swaroop Sharma also addressed the public meeting. Several MLAs and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
