The Himachal Pradesh state Cabinet has decided to keep all summer closing schools in the State closed till February 21, 2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Cabinet took this decision in a meeting held on Wednesday presided over by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. The state government has already closed schools till February 12 in all winter closing schools; however online classes would continue in schools.
It also considered complaints of exuberant charges and fees levied by some private schools in the state and decided to constitute committees headed by Deputy Commissioners in all districts to monitor the fee charged by private schools from students is not exploitative in nature and fee and charges are adequate for paying salaries of the staff and for running infrastructural facilities in schools in respective districts. Deputy Directors of higher and elementary education would be other members of the committee.
The Cabinet also decided to change the night curfew timing from 10 pm to 6 am in the four districts, allowed opening of markets on Sunday and gave its consent for allotment of 104 MW Tandi, 130 MW Rashil and 267 MW Sach Khas hydro-electric projects on Chenab Basin in favour of SJVNL.
It decided to fill up two posts of Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies in Cooperative Department through direct recruitment.
