Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has appreciated efforts of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur for impressive achievements of Himachal Pradesh government during the three years rule in the state.
Addressing a state level function held at Peterhoff Hotel Shimla to celebrate completion of three years of the state government on Sunday through virtual mode the Defence Minister said, “The PMGSY is a great gift from the former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee and proved a boon to a hilly state like Himachal Pradesh; it is a matter of pride for the state that it has become second best state in the country in implementation of this scheme.”
He said, “The Atal Tunnel, which was dedicated to the nation recently by the PM would facilitate people of Lahaul – Spiti, besides being of strategic importance for the country.”
He also termed Himachal Pradesh as Vir Bhumi as almost every family of the state has a serving soldier or is an ex-serviceman. The message of National BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda was also read on this occasion.
Addressing on the occasion at Peterhoff Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said, “The three years tenure of the present state government is dedicated towards welfare of every section of the society as several initiatives were taken by the state government to develop the state; the COVID -19 has forced the government to organize the function in a simple manner following the SOPs.”
Thakur said, “State government is providing social security pension to 5.70 lakh people, 1.25 lakh families have been provided health cover under HIMCARE scheme, Sewa Sankalp helpline 1100 have been started to resolve public grievances, Sahara Yojna has been launched to provide an assistance of Rs 3000 for chronic patients and 2.90 lakh free gas connections have been provided to poor families under Grihni Suvidha Yojna to make the state smokeless”.
He said, “MoUs of nearly Rs. 96,000 crore have been signed during the Global Investor Meet and work on projects of about Rs 10000 crores have already begun; schemes like prakritik kheti kushal kissan yojana and mukhymantri swalamban yojna have also been started in the state.”
Thakur thanked Union Defence Minister for sanctioning a battalion of NDRF for the state, besides giving one rank one pension to defence personnel’s.
The Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur speaking on the occasion from New Delhi also congratulated the state government on this occasion.
State BJP In-charge Avinash Rai Khanna and former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal were among the other BJP leaders who addressed on this occasion.
