The Himachal State Cabinet has decided to cancel scheduled winter session of Himachal Pradesh Assembly at Dharamshala from December 7 to 11.
The state Cabinet made a recommendation in this regard after a detailed discussion in the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in the wake of surge in COVID-19 cases in the state.
The Cabinet has also decided to restrict programmes of all Ministers, MPs and MLAs and asked them not to hold public functions except virtually by adhering to SOPs issued by the state government. Permission for holding social functions like marriages, birthday parties, mundans etc would have to be sought from local SDMs and Executive Magistrates would be mandated to enforce SOPs in all such functions.
It also decided containment zones would be strictly enforced to break the chain of virus and random sampling would be done to identify affected persons at an early stage.
It decided all ministers would ensure effective implementation of Him Surksha campaign in their assigned districts, besides ensuring steps to check spread of COVID cases and reviewing arrangements in health institutions.
The cabinet also decided to create Atal Tunnel Security Unit at Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti districts and establish police establishment to deal security matters concerning the tunnel and providing them vehicles.
To create parking facilities on highways and roads the Cabinet has decided to meet the increasing parking requirement and ensure smooth flow of traffic on all roads and towns the Cabinet decided to make a provision for open sky parking in the state by amending Town and Country Planning Rules -2014.
