Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has hinted at imposing fresh restrictions in the state in the wake of surge in COVID -19 cases during the past few days.
Presiding over a review meeting at Mandi on Sunday he said, “Keeping in view the surge in the COVID cases in the state the government would consider imposing fresh restrictions like limiting social gatherings and observance of precautionary measures.”
He said. “It is important to regularly monitor the COVID positive cases and patients in home isolation as their number is more than the patients in hospitals.”
The CM directed the health department to monitor fever and oxygen levels of such patients besides educating them to take proper medicines regularly, serve them hot food and water, besides proving PPE kits and motivating their caretakers to attend them in hospitals. .
He said, “Serious patients should be referred to bigger hospitals for better care immediately and efforts should be made to hand over the dead bodies of deceased to their family members.”
Deputy Commissioner Mandi Rugved Thakur also gave a presentation on COVID cases and management of the virus in the district. CMO Mandi Dr Devinder Sharma also gave a presentation about treatment facilities at COVID hospital and care centers in the district.
