Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has made a debut in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) by attaining 7th position in a ranking given by Innovation Cell of Ministry of Education.
The list was announced on Tuesday by the Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu in presence of Education Minister Ramesh Pokhryal , in which IIT has been placed at seventh position, the only institute to get placement among centrally funded institution category of ARIIA -2020.
Speaking about this achievement Director of IIT Mandi Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi said, “We are ecstatic as our efforts in improving the curriculum through practicum based learning and focus on the entrepreneurial ecosystem is yielding results; our catalyst programme has helped seventy five startups since 2017 in changing both the industry profile and entrepreneurial mindset and the ARIIA ranking has given us reassurance of our work and direction.”
ARIIA is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, being implemented by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry’s Innovation Cell to systematically rank higher education institutions and universities in India on indicators related to technology transfer, innovation, startup and entrepreneurship development among students and faculty. As many as 674 institutes had participated in the ranking this year.

IIT Mandi newly established Institute has shown good results and now added one more feather to its hat by coming at 7th rank out of 674 institute which participated in ARIIA 2020. It’s great achievement & all credited goes to good management & good faculty. Congratulations to all.
Absolutely right sir , IIT Mandi has added another feather to its cap by sheer hard work of management, faculty and students .
