Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has sought a report from Vice Chancellor of Dr YS Pramar Horticulture and Forestry University Nauni, on outbreak of jaundice at the university hostels.

Taking cognizance of the rise in jaundice cases the Governor has directed the VC to submit the report immediately, during his meeting with the VC in the Raj Baan.

He also issued instructions to take steps to improve the quality of drinking water being supplied to students, besides ensuring proper hygiene and finding out the real cause of the outbreak with the help of medical specialists.

The Governor has also appealed to the students to maintain peace in the campus assuring them personal monitoring of the case.

It is notable students of the university are agitating against the university administration demanding immediate steps for controlling the jaundice after a large number of students were afflicted with the disease .
